Very nice evening in a very nice atmosphere. We had the daily offer and I have to say it was a blast. Very tasty and well presented. The creme bruleé hardly fits in, but it was the highlight of the evening. We'll be back for sure!

On the recommendation of locals;) we ended up in this restaurant, far from mass tourism. Interior very, very nice, nice, fast & friendly service including the owner. We were served very quickly and the food came so quickly that it was too fast for me personally! Yes sounds strange, too fast, but it gives me the impression that it was prepared or as if you want to get everything through quickly, from the kitchen. The food was good, especially the dumplings and the trout tartare (I would have liked some more bread with it) should be positively mentioned here! The schnitzel Wiener Art (from pork) was not good, 2 small minis, which were dry and on the edge it was unfortunately hard, but that was really the only course where the price (17.90 €) performance was not right. All in all, a nice restaurant, which I would be happy to recommend. Just not the schnitzel ... and give the guests some time between courses 😉.

With a reservation in advance you are on the safe side. We were warmly welcomed, served quickly and the children were allowed to paint. Unfortunately I can only rate coffee and cake at the moment. There was nothing to complain about. There was a good selection of delicious homemade cakes / pies. We'll test the warm kitchen next time;) I've only heard good things.

Pretty bad meal. Unseasoned schnitzel, mushy potatoes and the mushroom sauce inedible. And absolutely no value for money. Never again. The positive response is probably due to locals who want to do the landlord a favor. Doubtful Mr. Schmidt who calls me by a false name and then immediately replies to my recession. Now I know why the food doesn't taste good. Internet is more important than guests who have to pay for overpriced meals that don't taste good

It was time to have a nice meal again! And where do you go? Of course in the nail forge in Ilsenburg. There aren't many restaurants where everything really fits, but there is simply nothing to complain about in the nail forge. I went to eat there with my daughter and it was just perfect. The staff was more than just friendly! Every request was met. The food was freshly prepared and the taste was a treat. Although we were more than full after the main course, we decided to have a dessert. That was amazing !!!! Something delicious and served with love. I can just say: GO ON !!!!! I will definitely come back :-)

Very nice restaurant in old walls. Great ambience, very nice and lovingly designed. We ate very well and delicious, and with Katrin, a very nice, competent and friendly woman was always available.

When freshly prepared with a ready-made sauce, very poor price-performance ratio. Would never recommend it as a foodie who tends to dine in the upper price segment. A totally artificial Maggi taste of the sauce, hardly to eat. But there are many alternatives in Ilsenburg.

We went to lunch at the nail forge with 2 children on Saturday. The restaurant was very well attended. The food came in a normal time frame, the service was very nice and attentive despite the full restaurant. The food was freshly cooked and nicely presented. The children didn't make their meal, the staff even packed the food for us on the way. We would love to come back!

We went here for dinner on September 10th, 2020, it was so delicious. The staff was very friendly and responsive. We were there with the stroller and a good solution was found immediately. The prices for the food are more than fair. The product quality is excellent. I highly recommend the restaurant. Many thanks for the good food in a great atmosphere.

The food was very good, but unfortunately we experienced some things that should have been better. So my visit was not reasonable for the price. The waitress could only recommend a dry white wine and then said "they're on the menu" when asked. Fillet and breast were mixed up. And it was very cold in the restaurant, several guests were sitting at the table in jackets. However, the door was not closed after repeated requests. Why was only explained by the GF at the end of the visit. I had a seat where I was extremely blinded by headlights several times by parking cars, ... It's a shame, actually the house has potential and it is probably very different when the sun is shining on the terrace on a day with fewer guests. But stress shows how good or bad a house is. My experience was bad.

Nice place. Unfortunately the dishes were more like 3 points we found. Pasta was good greasy, a little salty and on top of it thick pepper grains was not quite to my taste. But the currywurst is solid and the terrace is simply wonderful.

We were there for dinner with a few colleagues in early July. Everything worked fine, we were made aware of the current Corana rules at the beginning. The supply of drinks went smoothly and the food was just as great! It was a great way to end a beautiful day at work in Ilsenburg.

We had an excellent lunch here yesterday. A delicious mushroom soup and a tender roast pork. I can only say it was a culinary delight. The service is also great. Polite and always eager to please. Would love to come back again. 👍👍👍👍👍

We felt very comfortable there. The service was very attentive. The food - apple pork currywurst - was very tasty. The menu / drinks menu is also available as a QR code. In terms of price it is a bit more expensive.

Promised is promised. And after a very tasty meal with very good service (thanks to Kerstin & Lena) we promised one of the owners that we would share our enthusiasm. The food was excellent. Of wonderful quality. And the location / atmosphere is second to none. Cozy. Relaxed. Excellent. Personally. Attentive. We went home with a pleasantly full stomach and some good tips for further vacations. Thank you very much!

We enjoyed a very good evening with excellent food (“tapas” and pasta courses) and wine, and very friendly service. We wish we had found restaurant Nagelschmiede sooner and we would definitely come back next time we are in Harz.

A wonderful restaurant with top cuisine. The menu is not too big and only contains dishes that the cook has mastered in preparation. I personally particularly liked the brioche burger because the combination of sweet bread and hearty chicken legs is extravagant and delicious. But you have to try it yourself and find your favorite dish. I can only recommend a visit. (don't forget to reserve) 👍😃👍

Stroke of luck!!! The plan was to go to another restaurant. But since everything was closed, we found the nail smithy. I have to say to our luck. Everything is just right here. A great house on the water, very delicious food and professional service. However, you should reserve! We were lucky and got a table right on the water.

Nice place, nice location, good food, but not the most friendly service. Lot's of signs all over the place telling guest not to touch this, go here, do that. Kunde ist König? Hier eher nicht.

Very nice location, wonderful outside sleeting on the lake, fast service, good food. We enjoyed it.

Wonderful experience! It was a big surprise because I was not expecting such a good restaurant after previous bad experiences in the Harz. The food, the wine, the cake and the service were excellent! We asked if it was possible to change a plate to vegetarian and it was kindly and easily done. Top! Hope to come back another time!

Visited Sunday 5th August at 1300 hrs (Table 31). Restaurant very full and indeed a very scenic location. We love Germany and the Harz Mountains and are staying here for six months. Our son and his partner had come to visit us and this was our last lunch together before they returned home to England. After ordering food and drinks together we took photos of each other after the drinks arrived. The food consisting of two soups and a currywurst did not arrive until 1350 hours after I had enquired as to when we were likely to be served our meals. We told the waitress that we were unhappy with the delay as other customers had been served before us. She replied that food orders were served in order of when customers arrived and that we had only been waiting 22 minutes as per her digital menu system, Looking at the time recorded on our photograph, it was clear we had ordered before 1314 hours making the wait for our food was more than 34 minutes. When pointing our observation that another table of customers arriving after us that had received their food orders before us, the waitress replied that these customers had ordered cold food and consequently could be served quicker contradicting her early statement about customers being served in order. Whilst we were eating our meals we noticed the arrival of new customers who sat nearby and within 15 minutes received both their drinks and hot and cold food. Did so want this to be an enjoyable meal together in a beautiful location but instead was left feeling we had to justify our complaint rather than receiving an apology in a professional manner. To add insult to injury the food was underwhelming. Luke warm tasteless soup.

Very cozy place with very good food.

Nice decentplace for a coffee and maybe a lunch after hiking. It felt a little upscale.
